- Emirates offers this coverage for COVID-19 related expenses free of charge to all its customers, regardless of travel class or destination. It is valid for 31 days from the moment you fly the first sector of your trip. This means that Emirates customers can continue to benefit from the additional guarantee of this coverage, even if they travel to another city after reaching their Emirates destination.
- This coverage is effective immediately for all Emirates customers until October 31, 2020 (first flight to be completed on or before October 31, 2020).
- Any affected customer who has been diagnosed with COVID-19 while traveling simply needs to contact a dedicated hotline for assistance and coverage.
- Customers do not need to register or complete any forms prior to travel and are not required to use this coverage provided by Emirates.
If you contact Emirates once at your destination, they will ask you a series of questions about the date of the trip, if you have tested positive … etc. and they will give you the insurance contact. Claiming hospitalization / quarantine costs will not work as they will not be reimbursed. Since it is the insurance who will be in charge of managing everything from the beginning.
